Leap Learning Systems’ work and approach is unique. No other organization brings the depth or quality of literacy and language development programming that is Leap’s trademark. We bring research to life by translating best practices into curricula and training that educators can use to strengthen the language skills of their students through any activity or subject matter.

From an early age, the language, literacy and communication abilities of students from lower-income backgrounds often lag significantly. Few things will influence the academic, social and future professional experiences of such youth more than the development – or underdevelopment – of those skills. Fortunately, with the right instruction, the language gap is not irreversible, and Leap Learning Systems’ cutting-edge, research-based programs are proven to help get children back up to speed.

What exactly does Leap Learning Systems provide?

The majority of our programs are professional development for teachers, tutors, parents, administrators and other educators. Leap offers seven core programs designed and proven to build fundamental language skills of students from preschool through high school, and each can be adapted to fill specific needs. In additional to our core offerings, Leap regularly creates and delivers customized trainings on a variety of issues related to literacy and language. Programs can run anywhere from a week to an entire school year depending on the program and the needs and resources of our partners.

The expertise and experience of Leap Learning Systems’ staff ensures that our programs address the critical language needs particular to each age group:

  • Early Childhood
    • Exposure to enrichment vocabulary
    • Language of dialogue and problem solving
    • Reading
    • Pre-print interactions with adults
  • School age children
    • Strong reading skills
    • Written expression
    • Oral expression
    • Using language as a tool for school work
  • High school and beyond
    • Writing skills and style
    • Verbal presentation
    • Grammar and pronunciation
    • How and why to use Academic English
    • Body language

How do I bring Leap Learning Systems’ programs to my school or organization?

Leap operates through a combination of grant funding and fee-based services. We strive to bring our programs to all institutions that request them, working with each potential program partner individually to determine a feasible arrangement.
